There is so much I want to say
about how illness gives life
a circumference
a border of distant horizons
The well want to cross such boundaries
Whereas I want
to circumnavigate
the edges
then slowly spiral inwards
back to myself
Love this, Therese! I feel the same - to explore the edges of what I can do now as a stroke survivor, and then travel inwards to the 'good' stuff :D My copy of The Alchemy of Illness arrived yesterday (thanks for the recommendation!) - it's my book for March :) x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Claire. I felt a great deal of joy when these words came to me. It seemed so right. And I hope you enjoy the book. It really is full of insights and inspiration.
DeleteI'm looking forward to reading it :)
DeleteBeautiful and poignant...there is much to explore within, but this acknowledges that some limits are real, less easy to transcend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carmine. And perhaps some limits are nice to transcend, though not always necessary to. All we need is within.
